Darryl Kelley Sr. Obituary

Darryl Wayne Kelley, Sr. was born on November 12, 1956 to the union of the late Lemon Kelley and Barbara Jean Williams-Kelley in Michigan City, Indiana.
 

He was a graduate of Elston High School, class of 1975. He was a standout basketball player for the Elston Red Devils and received a basketball scholarship to Lake Michigan College. After returning from college, he went to work for the Michigan City Water Department, and later Criterion Catalysts, where he retired after 28 years of service.

Darryl Wayne Kelley departed this life on May 20, 2020.

Darryl leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife Ida Louise Kelley (13 years), his loving children DeWanna Kelley, Darryl (Alisha) Kelley, Jr. of Portland, Oregon, Durrell Kelley of Chicago, Illinois, Lemon (Chanel) Kelley of Michigan City, stepchildren Thomas (Lillian) Ferrell, Carlon Bush, Kimberly Bush, and the late Simone Bush of Michigan City, 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, siblings Anthony (Terri) Kilgore, Ronald (Gail) Kilgore of Minnesota, Nanette Butler of Fort Wayne, Marlene Kelley, Wanda Kelley, Sherman Kelley, and Brett (Deborah) Kelley, Sr., all of Michigan City, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as special god children Sammi Phillips and Ray Neal.

Viewing for family and close friends only will be 10:00am until noon on May 27, 2020 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. His celebration of life will be noon on May 27, 2020 for his immediate family only. Burial will take place at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
