HER LIFE & LEGACY
Charlene Patrick-Hodges was born on February 25, 1958, in Michigan City Indiana to George and Ozzie Fleming.
Charlene was a devoted and hardworking mother who poured her life into caring for her five children. With over 40 years of dedicated employment. She retired from Alpha Baking after 20 years of service in 2022. Leaving behind a legacy of diligence, strength, and unwavering commitment. She was the true definition of a provider and protector, someone who made sure her children were always supported, no matter what the circumstances. Though small in stature, Charlene was strong and mighty in spirit, carrying herself with quiet grace, determination, and a love that never wavered.
A proud mother, deeply cherished grandmother, and loving great-grandmother, Charlene was truly adored by her grandchildren and surrounded by a host of family, friends, and what she lovingly called her “work buddies.” Known for her strong work ethic, she took pride in showing up, giving her best, and building meaningful connections along the way. She had a vibrant personality, always staying informed about current events, especially politics, often to the point where her children would jokingly tell her to take a break from her phone. Charlene had a creative spirit, with a love for decorating and expressing her unique style in everything she touched. Even after retirement, she remained on the go, rarely sitting still, always ready to lend a hand, take a friend to the store, pick up and watch her grandson and great grandson or plan her next trip to Greece. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and simply being present for those she loved. Charlene was always creating, always giving, and her legacy of love, strength, and dedication would live on through all who knew her. She will be truly and deeply missed.
Though her presence will be missed, her love will remain a guiding light, forever carried in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will continue to live on through every life she poured into.
