Her Story...
Carolyn Fay Cole was born on December 23, 1962 in Memphis Tennessee to Mines Cole and Elsie Mae Cole; Carolyn Fay Cole was the eighth born out of ten children. Carolyn Fay and her family relocated to Chicago, Illinois where she planted her roots.
“Fay” as she was affectionately called, attended Douglas Community Academy for grade school, then Wendell Phillips High School. She furthered her education at Kennedy King College, and later attended Everest College where she obtained her certification as a medical assistant. Fay worked various jobs on the South Side of Chicago including Janitiorial and Security.
“Fay '' most joyful moments were family gatherings and cook-outs where she often dominated the barbecue grill, and making everyone’s kitchen favorites, including homemade Italian beef, lasagna, coleslaw and much more. Fay also enjoyed arts and crafts as she would often design her own Christmas ornaments and her smile would shine as bright as the Christmas lights because this was her favorite time of the year.
“Fay” had a special love for her daughters Veronica Cole “Ronnie” and LaDonnia Cole “Donna”. This love multiplied for each and every one of her grandchildren, Dontavious Smith “Tay”, Terriance Wright, Tyriq Cole, Taylor Wright, and Tayshawn Wright. Her grandchildren brought so much happiness to her heart as she spent time with them at the parks every summer and always showed up for birthdays and holidays.
