Carla was born on July 22, 1963, the youngest of 5 children. She was born and raised in Gary, Indiana on the famous Buchanan Street, where she established and nurtured many life-long friendships.
On Tuesday, January 25, 2022 Carla Annette left this world and went home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her mother Annie Mae Dillon Spicer, sister, Lalita Ann Spicer Osborne and niece Toni Greer.
Carla graduated from the also famous Roosevelt High School. Carla was a life-long member of New Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, where she had a beautiful voice and sang in the choir. Carla met and married Jason Hayden and to this union three children were born.
A Viewing will take place on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 2 to 4pm at Coleman and Hicks Chapel 101 S. Karwick Rd. Michigan City, Indiana.
Carla leaves to cherish her memories her children: Jason Hayden Jr., of Gary, Indiana; Angenette “Angie” Hayden of South Bend, Indiana; and Justin Hayden of Hammond, Indiana; Carla was blessed with four grandchildren, her sisters: Janet Spicer Hamer, of Denver Colorado; Frances Spicer Willis of Brownsburg Indiana; and brother John (Betty) Spicer Jr. of South Bend Indiana; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She will be sorely missed by all that knew her.
