HER LIFE STORY…
Camille LeShae Duke was born on August 8th,1987 to the late Michael Eugene and Vannessa Lynn Duke.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and New Disciple Love Fellowship Church from birth into her adult life. Camille always had a passion for music whether it was a song or dance. Camille was the first member of the praise dance team at New Disciple where she choreographed and participated in countless routines. She truly loved to sing, while at her present church home, Advancing Christ’s Kingdom Ministries, she sang on the praise & worship team (Selah) for 16 years.
Camille attended Michigan City High School, graduating in 2006. While at MCHS, she was a part of the Wolvettes Dance team, even going to State competition in the 2004/05 season. After graduation, she continued to help with the Wolvettes, teaching her smooth moves and serving as a judge for potential team members. Camille went on to further her education at Ivy Tech College, where she graduated with an Associate's Degree in Business Administration.
Camille was an extremely driven, hard worker with a strong work ethic, a true reflection of both of her parents. She started working in the food industry, moving forward to working in various retail companies. She then began working in the field of deep passion and purpose: childcare. Throughout her career in the field, she worked for several businesses including Little Lambs and New Disciple Love Fellowship Childcare. She worked as a Home Health Aide at Help at Home for several years before starting Safe Harbor where she was a Supervisor and Laporte County Juvenile Services Center where she was the Third Shift Unit Leader; she was presently employed at both.
Camille was such a loving daughter; along with her brother Michael, they cared for their mother and father while they were ill until they went home to be with the Lord.
Camille also had an affinity for traveling. In her endeavors she was able to visit the likes of Miami, Florida; Houston, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee; New Orleans, Louisiana; Atlanta, Georgia and several other cities and states. She had a chance to travel abroad multiple times; Camille was blessed to see the beauty of Aruba where she went ATVing in the desert and beaches of Aruba and Jamaica where she with the dolphins and waded in the lagoons of Montego Bay.
There is so much more we could say about this young, beautiful, sweet, vivacious, loving, kind Songstress of God, but we will have to take the warm memories and the footprints that she has left in each and everyone of our hearts and cherish them, whenever you feel low, close your eyes and remember her bright smile and her soft voice telling you “It’s going to be alright, I am with the Lord.”
Camille LeShae Duke went home to be with the Lord on March 28th, 2026, at Franciscan Health. Today we celebrate her life and the joy we shared with her here on this earth.
