Beverly J. Phillips

Beverly Joyce Phillips was born May 18, 1953, to John Crittendon Sr. and Elizabeth Jean (Gardner) Crittendon in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Beverly was retired and lived in Michigan City with her husband. Her life centered around her family. She was a dedicated wife and mother and adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed family game nights, hosting big dinners and family trips. She helped those in need. She was loved by all those that knew her.

Beverly Joyce Phillips, 69, of Michigan City, IN, passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2022, at her home. Beverly was preceded in death by, her parents John Sr. and Elizabeth Crittendon, a sister, Doris Jean Johnson, her brothers, Ronald (Libby) Crittendon Sr. and John (Janis) Crittendon Jr. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted husband of 50 years, Charles Phillips Sr., She was cherished by six children: Angela (Stephen) Bones Sr., Charles (Sarah) Phillips Jr, Lawrence (Kanisha) Phillips Sr., Beverly “Dusa” Phillips, Reuben (Kristen) Phillips Sr., Nikkia (Kinesha) Phillips and a bonus daughter Tanisha (Ronald) Lee,  three brothers: Stevie (Sharron) Crittendon, Anthony (Debra) Crittendon and Gregory (Margaret) Crittendon, She is also survived by 18 grandchildren: Charles Phillips III, Mia Phillips, Stephen Bones Jr., Keyshaun Phillips, Lauryn Phillips, Andre Williams Jr, Kenyon Bones, Jenell English, La’Najia Phillips, Lawrence Phillips Jr, Amani Williams, Nala Phillips, Jaden Phillips, Aniyah Lee, Reuben Phillips Jr, Kamauri Phillips, Riley Phillips, Kyrie Phillips. Lastly, she was blessed with two great-grandchildren: Kai Langston, and A’keriah Reddick.

Beverly's love, laughter, presence and smile will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

A Celebration of life will take place Saturday, December 24, 2022 at 12 noon at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 123 Helen St. Michigan City, Indiana 46360 with Pastor Ron Gaston to do Eulogy. Viewing will be 11am until time of service at the Church. Burial to take place Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens at 11am.
