Alice Faye Hurt

HER STORY...

Alice “Faye” (Smith) Hurt was born September 12th, 1953 in Tiptonville, TN to the Late Leroy Smith Sr. and Mattie (Dixon) Smith.

On the 25th day of October in 1975 she wedded Paul Hurt Jr., and the two remained together until her passing. From this Union, 2 Children were born, Anthony Hurt and William Hurt. 

As a Young adult, Faye accepted Christ and was Baptized at First Baptist Church of Lakeland. Faye dedicated over 40 years of her life to the dietary and environmental service fields. Ending with her retirement from Blue Chip Casino in 2018 with 20 years of service. In her Youth, she was an avid bowler and softball player for Walters and Kingwood Hospital Teams.

In her Later years, Faye enjoyed trips to Kentucky to visit family and childhood friends, talking and sitting with family and friends locally, or sitting with her grandchildren who were her absolute world.

Alice Faye Hurt 70, of Michigan City, Indiana gained her wings on May 30, 2024. She was preceded in death by 1 sister: Doris Mithell, 2 Brothers: Leroy Smith Jr., and Talmage Smith Sr., 1 Special cousin: Mary V. Mitchell and 1 Grandchild: Atlantis Hurt.

A Celebration of life will be Saturday, 1pm, June 8, 2024 at Redeemed Fellowship 7922 W. Pahs Rd. Michigan City, Indiana 46360 with Pastor Dwayne Hurt to be Eulogist. Viewing will be 11am to 1pm until time of service at the Church. Burial will take place on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 11am, Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. 

Faye leaves to cherish her memories; her loving husband: Paul Hurt Jr., 2 sons whom she adored: Anthony (Donnicka) Hurt, and William (Ebony) Hurt all of Michigan City, IN; 2 Sisters: Linda Cheirs of Hickman, KY;  and Ivy Orr of Michigan City, IN; 3 grandchildren she cherished: Amare' Hurt, Aubree Hurt, and Aundreas Hurt, all of Michigan City, IN; 1 Sister-in-Law: Suzanne Smith of LaCenter, KY; 3 Special Friends: Lisa Nichols, Tiffany Griffin, Leomia Farmer all of Michigan City, IN; 2 Brother-in-Laws: Bruce (Pamela) Hurt of Michigan City, IN; and Brian Hurt of Dallas, TX.

Faye’s love, laughter, smile and presence will be missed by many.
