Tommie L. Braxton departed this life on December 21, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be noon on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Coleman & Hicks Chapel with Elder Laverne Briggs to officiate and viewing at 11am, Saturday until the time of service at the Chapel.

Tommie was born March 10, 1958 in Pontiac, Michigan to Esther Braxton and the late Clarence Braxton. He graduated in 1976 from Rogers High School. Tommie attended Hatchet Temple and Zion Temple Church of God in Christ. He loved quartet singing and was a bass player. He was the best tenor in Michigan City. He helped his mother with the word of God for Sunday school. Tommie loved cooking, washing clothes and yard work. He once was employed working on the railroad in Defiance, Ohio.

He never married and no children; Tommie leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Esther Braxton of Michigan City; two sisters, Laurie Braxton of Michigan City and Simone Braxton of South Bend; one brother, Ryan Braxton of Michigan City; one stepbrother, Anthony Hubbard; one nephew, David Smith Jr., of Michigan City, Indiana and one god-sister, Sharon Kelly of Michigan City, Indiana and a host of relatives and friends.
