Deacon Thomas Earl Dunlap 69, of Michigan City, peacefully passed away Friday, May 3, 2019.
Thomas celebration of life will take place at 11am, Monday, May 13, 2019 at Greater Powerhouse Church of God in Christ 428 North Woodland Ave., Michigan City with visitation 10am to 11am at the church. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery Hobart, Indiana. Pastor Swanson will officiate
Thomas was the fourth child born to the late Alex and Alberta Dunlap Sr. on November 10, 1949 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Thomas graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1968 in Gary, Indiana after graduating high school Thomas started employment at Inland Steel Mill. Thomas also drove across country for several years as a truck driver. After coming off the road, Thomas drove locally several years as a truck driver for Wanitha Trucking Company. Thomas also was a race car lover and driver he also had a great passion for horses.
Thomas gave his life to Christ at early age. He was a member of Love Temple Church of God in Christ where he was an ordained Deacon.
Thomas loved his family dearly. He was known for his “dapper” taste with suits and fashion, dressing very sharp all the time.
Thomas leaves to cherish memories, his siblings, Alex Dunlap Jr. of Gary, IN, Georgia Lynch of Minneapolis, MN, Deffer Ann Dunlap of Plymouth, MN, Traci Dunlap of Spring Lake Park, MN and Tyrone Dunlap, Minneapolis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives; one special friend Lilly Blacknell whom Thomas Loved Dearly.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lottie Jean (Donald Sr.) Robinson.
