Steve L. Farmer Sr., 61, Michigan City departed this life on August 16, 2017.

Steve was born November 5, 1955 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Harry "Bill" Farmer and Martha (Stewart) Farmer. On June 2, 2001 in Michigan City, Indiana, Steve married Melody Lenoir.

He graduated from Rogers Senior High School. Steve worked at Miller's Construction. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lakeland under the leadership of Rev. Howard Daniel. Steve had a "heart of gold"; he loved making his family and friends laugh, he also enjoyed cooking.

Steve leaves to mourn his memories, his wife, Melody Farmer; three sons, Steve L. (Dr. Erika) Farmer Jr., Christopher Farmer and Lloyd Farmer; one brother, Frank (Kia) Farmer; three god sisters, Dr. Harriett A. "Taj" Slocum, Lois Whitlow and Katherine Lowery; mother-in-law, Barbara A. Lenoir; father-in-law, JW Lenoir; three special friends, Lawrence Leeks, Kenny Lenoir and Marshall Cowan; three grandchildren, Kaylee Farmer, Cameron Farmer and Zachary Farmer; fifteen nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Farmer Sr.
