Shirley Ann Wesley Sims was born September 5, 1956 to Betty Jean Walker White and Lawrence Wesley. In 1989 she married Robert Sims Sr. Shirley gained her wings and transitioned to be with the Lord unexpectedly at home June 28, 2019. Shirley was preceded in death by her father; maternal and paternal grandparents.
Shirley was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. A cherished daughter, sister and loyal friend. Shirley is a graduate of Rogers Sr High School where she acquired many life long friendships. She was an animal advocate who always had a dog or two and a tank full of fish. Her life’s calling as a caring, kind and professionally Certified Nursing Assistant left a loving and lasting admiration with every patient she cared for and coworker who labored beside her until she retired after 30 plus years of service.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her best friend and the love of life Robert Sims Sr. Her mother Betty (Alfonso) White, her daughters Toya (Darren) Swanigan, Tasha Sims and son, Robert Sims Jr.; Sisters, Sherry Wesley, Kim (Johnny) Perrien and brother, Derrick (Rosalyn) Wesley. Grandchildren, Iman Wesley, Donterius Wesley, Jax Sherrod, Aramis Sims, Taylor Moore and Diamond Sims. Special friends, Michelle Bush, Jeri Bush, Dollie Clifton, Shonda Sims, Gloria Ward, Nellie Thompson, Claudette Nichols and Glenda Sutton. Shirley will also be missed by a host of relatives, several nieces, nephews, cousins and her four legged companions Cookie and Lady.
To absent from the body, is to present with the Lord.
Funeral services will be noon, Saturday, July 6, 2019 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jacarra Williams to officiate. Burial will take place at 10am on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Viewing will be 10am Saturday, July 6, 2019 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church until the time of service.
