Sharon R Smith

Sharon R. Smith, age 63, formerly of Gary, In. gained her wings on February 10, 2018 in Michigan City, In., after a long brave fight with cancer.

Sharon was born to the late Solomon and Celestine Smith, on April 29, 1954 in Gary, IN.

Sharon is proceeded in death by three siblings; Patricia, Jerrold, and Rhonda.

Sharon was a West Side High School graduate, Class of 1972, in Gary, IN.

Sharon loved listening to music, singing, dancing, cross word puzzles, outdoor activities, reading books, and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory three beloved daughters; Sherria R. Kellum, of Portage, IN., Sabrina R. Smith, of Gary, IN, Sheila A. Smith, of Merrillville, IN.; thirteen precious grandchildren; one brother, Ernest (Ola) Smith, of Merrillville, IN. and two sisters, Karen (Londell) Williams, of Arkansas, and Regina Remson, of Illinois; a host of other family and friends. 

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Aperion Care Arbors and The Woodland Cancer Care Center of Michigan City, IN, for all of their sincere care, concern, and genuine love shown towards Sharon during her rehabilitation and treatment. The unwavering dedication of service will forever be appreciated.

Sharon will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of her Life will be held in the near future; date and time to be announced.
