Roy Hudson Jr Obituary

Roy Bennett Hudson Jr., 67, departed this life on May 15, 2018 at Franciscan St. Anthony Memorial.

Funeral services will be 11:00am, Saturday, May 26, 2018 Life Temple Church of God in Christ 3709 US HWY 20, Michigan City with Elder John Jones to officiate. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Viewing will be 4:00 to 7:00pm Friday, May 25, 2018 at Coleman & Hicks Chapel.

Roy was born Nov. 5, 1950 to the union of Roy B. Hudson Sr. and Flora M. (Hartfield) Hudson in Michigan City, Indiana.

Roy confessed his hope in Jesus Christ at an early age. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to First Pentecostal Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James Lane.

 Roy attended and graduated Elston Jr. and Sr. High school; he then went to College in Washington D. C. After college Roy moved back to Michigan City. He enlisted in the Army on September 30, 1974 and he was discharged on June 20, 1975. Roy worked at Westville Correctional for many years, he retired from Blocksom Co.

He enjoyed watching movies, basketball and football games, cooking, and especially being around his family and friends. Roy was a great dancer and enjoyed dancing like the group "The Temptations”.

Roy leaves to cherish his memory one son, Andre McCollough, South Bend,Indiana; two granddaughters, Tiera McCullough and Andre’a McCollough both of South Bend, Indiana; eight great grandchildren, one brother, Raynard Hudson, Davenport, Iowa; three sisters, Paula M. Hudson, Michigan City, Indiana; Renee Hudson, Atlanta, Georgia; and Donna (Dennis) Hood, Michigan City, Indiana; a special friend, Rev. John Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roscoe B. Hudson Sr., two sisters, Pamela Lark and Vicki Hudson; one nephew, De’Andre N. Hudson and one great niece, Eisha Lark.
