Nicholas Harmon Obituary

Nicholas Harmon of LaPorte, Indiana departed this life in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 4, 2019.

Funeral services will be noon, Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Coleman & Hicks Chapel. Burial will take place at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Viewing will be 10am, Saturday, October 12, 2019 until the time of service.

Nicholas Harmon was born January 26, 1956 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Willie Lee and Veoma  "Bobbie" (Banks) Harmon-Grant. 

Nicholas a.k.a Nicky attended Niemann Elementary school then went on to Krueger Junior High. Nick graduated from Rogers Senior High, class of 1974. After graduation, he attended Pittsburg State University. 

Nick was employed by ArcelorMittal Steel Mill in Burns Harbor, Indiana, for 41 years. Nick was an avid Chicago Bears fan and an outdoorsman, with a passion for photography, cooking and music. Most of all, he was a loving, devoted husband and father, eager to help his loved ones in any way, he truly loved spending time with his family. 

He leaves behind the most precious memories, his wife of 38 years, Crystal (Johnson) Harmon of La Porte, Indiana; his son, Nicholas D. Harmon of Indianapolis, Indiana; his brother, Cornelius (Charlotte) E. Singleton II of Michigan City, Indiana;his sister, Theresa M. Harmon of Indianapolis, Indiana; as well as his brothers Billy Harmon and James D. Harmon (Indianapolis, Indiana); a special aunt, Linda Evans, of Michigan City, Indiana along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Veoma; in addition to his youngest brother Frederick T. Harmon.

Nick will be greatly missed.
