Nettie Lean Davis "Net",  was born December 12, 1958 in Starkville, MS to the union of the late Willie N. Davis and Eliza M. Davis.

She accepted Christ at an early age.  Her most recent membership was at First Pentecostal M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Jarvis Johnson, where she served as an Usher.  You would also see her visiting and ushering at other churches throughout the City.  She especially loved quartet musicals. Net graduated from Northern High School in Detroit, MI and continued her education at Wayne County Community College.  She had worked for many years at the Internal Revenue Services in Detroit before moving to Michigan City, IN.  In Michigan City, Net worked at Weil McLain, McDonald’s and Concord Cleaners.

Nettie Lean Davis departed this life on July 15, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandparents and maternal grandparents, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Net leaves to mourn her precious memories the love of her life Leonard “Range” Frierson, her two brothers Standles Davis of Moncks, S.C. and Marcus (Suprenea) Bishop Sr. of Starkville MS, niece, Tamika Davis, Detroit, MI, three special 1st cousins whom she referred to as her sisters, Mary Andrews and Yolanda (Jeff) Davis of LaPorte, IN and Annette Ware (Clyde LeGrone) of Detroit, MI, her cousins that she referred to as “her kids” Mary (Titia) Ware and LaSharia (Mike) Lemons of Michigan City, IN, a host of little cousins, who she referred to as her nieces and nephews that affectionately called her “Net Net” thanks to Jailyn, many uncles, aunts and best friends, Toniesa Fletcher, Carolyn Taylor, Lynn Stalling and Aretha Howard.  Net always mentioned her twins “Pam and Patricia”, who were lost at sea. Though they were imaginary, she was definitely a mother, aunt, sister and friend to everyone who came in contact with her.

She will be remembered for always enjoying life to the fullest.  Boy could she could liven up a party.  As she would always say “2 Chainz – I’m Different” and yes she was One of a Kind. Nettie has left us all with great memories and laughter.
