Mrs. Carrie M. “Johnson” Green was born on March 27, 1944, to the late Mamie Lee Johnson and the late Roosevelt Johnson. Without warning, God saw fit to choose one of his most beautiful roses from His earthly garden to be planted in his Heavenly Garden on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at 3:34 p.m.

Carrie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of New Life Christian Fellowship Church in Grenada. She enjoyed spending time with her friend and friends.

Precious memories of Mrs. Carrie will linger forever in the hearts of one daughter, Yolanda Y. Hemphill of Grenada, Mississippi; one son, Bernard Johnson of Grand Rapids, Michigan; one brother, Robert C. Johnson of Michigan City, Indiana; two granddaughters, Candace (Jermerick) Taylor of Grenada, Mississippi; Kimiko Johnson of Indianapolis, Indiana; one great grandson, Javari Taylor of Grenada, Mississippi; two nieces, Tennika (Christepher) Hubbard of Michigan City, Indiana; Teyrn of Rock Hill, South Carolina; one nephew, Terry (Dawn) Johnson of Rock Hill, South Carolina; special sister, Erma Crume of Michigan City, Indiana and two special friends, Patrice Payton and Marie McMullan.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Green; mother; father and great-grandchildren, X’Zavia and X’Zavion.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 123 Helen Street, Michigan City, with Rev. Dr. Ernest Hargrove to officiate, burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing will be 10 a.m., Friday, at the church until the time of service.
