Monsignor L. Gilbert

 Monsignor Lamont Gilbert affectionately known as “JR” departed this life on March 25, 2019 at Lake park Residential in Lake Station.

Funeral services will be 1:00PM, Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Coleman & Hicks Chapel with Elder Ray Jackson to give the eulogy. Viewing will be 12:00pm, Saturday at the chapel until the time of service.

He was born January 21, 1971 in Michigan City, Indiana to the union of Jerry Gilbert and Maggie Gilbert.

He attended Michigan City Area Schools and he graduated from Elston High School. During his youth “JR” played basketball. He worked at several places just to name a few, McDonald’s as a cook, Forest Ranger and the Duke of Oil.

“JR” leaves to cherish his memories, his parents, father, Mr. Jerry Gilbert and mother, Ms. Maggie Gilbert; siblings, Jo Ann Gilbert-Nesbitt, Sherry Gilbert, Jewel (Mike) Dudeck, Michael Gilbert and Terry Gilbert; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and two nephews.
