Mitchell Lynn Eiland

Mitchell L. Eiland,  departed this life on September 10, 2018.

Funeral services will be 11am Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Liberty Temple Church of God in Christ 5230 South Halsted Street, Chicago, IL with the viewing at 10am, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the church until the time of service.

Mitchell was born on September 28, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois to Shelby and Edna Grace (Martin) Eilan.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age. Mitchell graduated from Medill Elementary and Cregier High School. After graduation, he work with his father at Lake River Terminals for many years.

Mitchell has a passion for singing, boxing and all sports. He would tell anyone who would listen, know that he was one of the best singers in Chicago. He would also let you know he was the best boxer and basketball player in the city. He once told us that he had scored 80 points in a game, but we couldn't find anybody that could second or verify that fact. Mitchell had a special talent- a talent called LOVE. He tried to help everyone on the Southside that he knew, that his nickname was "Money Making Mitch", and his theme word was (I make it do what it do) he had a special relationship with everyone he worked with.

He leaves to love and cherish his memories, one daughter, Tamech Michelle; seven sons,  Michael, Ray Lyn, Rayshon, Ronmel, Rudy, Lil Mitchell and Martice; four brothers, Reginald Eiland, Anthony Eiland, Shelby Andre (Pamela) Eiland and Antoine (Sansuray) Eiland; thirty-six grandchildren; a special friend, Doris and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Sadie Martin one brother, Ronald Eiland and one nephew, Roderick.
