Mary Ann (Williams) Jones

Mary Ann Jones was born March 27, 1946 in Florence, Alabama to the late Fred Williams and Ruby Mae (Johnson) Williams.

Mary work over thirty years as a bus driver for the Head Start Program. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she was very active in the choir; she participated on the mother’s board and the Seniors Using Gifts after Retirement (The SUGAR group). Mary Ann was giving, loving, kind and a free spirit. She was a joy to be around. Mary Ann enjoyed watching basketball.

Mary Ann Jones departed this life on October 13, 2019 at Franciscan Health of Michigan City, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Henry Williams, Ricky Davis, Freddie Mae Williams, Andrew Lee Williams and Larry Williams.

Mary Ann leaves to cherish her memories, six children, Rubin Jones, Jr., Sherri Lynn Jones-Gaston, Tammy Marie Jones, Archie Terrell (Inesha) Jones, Courtney Vashawn Jones all of Michigan City, Indiana and Shekeli Denyce Jones of Indianapolis, Indiana; three sisters, Betty (Willie) Blackmon, Mattie Singleton and Janice Williams all of Michigan City, Indiana; special friend, Mattie Wilkins of Michigan City, Indiana; twenty grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and her New Hope Church family.

She will truly be missed.

A memorial celebration of her life will be noon, Saturday, October 19, 2019 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jacarra Williams to officiate.
