Marshall A. “Big House” Cowan, 47, departed this life on October 21, 2019 at the University of Chicago Medicine.
Memorial service will be 12:00pm, Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Coleman & Hicks Chapel. Viewing will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, November 1, 2019 at Coleman & Hicks Chapel.
Marshall was born April 20, 1972 in Michigan City, Indiana to Marshall C. Cowan and Jacqueline Wilson.
He attended Rock Island High School, Rock Island, Illinois and later became employed with Teledyne Casting Services as a Crane Operator/Iron Pourer. Upon leaving Teledyne, Marshall then started his own construction business and from there he ended with Lippert Components, Inc as a Forklift Driver. Marshall was very ambitious and competitive he wanted to be the best at everything he did. He was a jack of all trades. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, weightlifting, rapping lyrics he wrote, and driving.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories, two sons, Keenan (Keillyn) Rogers of Moline, Illinois and Kentrelle Butler of DeKalb, Illinois, his parents, Jacqueline Wilson and Marshall C. (Caroline) Cowan both of Michigan City, Indiana; one sister, Tieioko Lenoir of Michigan City, Indiana; four brothers, Dwayne Cowan, LaMont Hurt both of Michigan City, Indiana, Matthew (Melina) Cowan of Killeen, Texas, and Demarcus Wright of Michigan City, Indiana, five grandchildren Keeona, Keenan Jr, Ky’Reese, Kabria, and Ka’Reem, Special Friends, Kenwood Toy,Craig McCray and James “Jamie” Mitchell, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and co-workers.
