Joseph Hales

Joseph Hales, 60, Michigan City departed this life on January 4, 2019 at University of Chicago.

A memorial celebration will be 11am Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Advancing Christ Kingdom Ministries.

Joseph Lee Hales was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 6, 1958 to Isiah Hales and Orelia (Watson) Hales.

He was a loving and supportive father. He love to spend time with family, crack jokes, and play pool. Joseph graduated from Elston High School in 1977. He worked at the Railroad for over 10 years.

He leaves two daughters, Tyshona Hales of Michigan City, Indiana and Sade Hales of Mississippi; mother, Orelia Hales of Michigan City, Indiana; three granddaughters, Nyeisha Rhodes, Deominique Miller and Se’an Murphy and one grandson, Brayden Hughes; two great grandchildren, Maliyah and Malik Hall; two sisters, Sheila Hales of Michigan City, Indiana and Barbara Varnado of New Orleans, Louisiana; one special friend, Roderick “Bay” Truvillion; special friend, Cathy Wilcoxon; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Lionel Hales.
