Jordan J. Davis, “JoJo”, journeyed to his destination on July 24, 2017.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church 730 West 6th Street with Rev. Jacarra M. Williams officiating, burial to follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Viewing will be 10 a.m., Saturday at the church until the time of service.
The journey for Jordan J. Davis began on July 8, 1989, in Michigan City, Indiana. Jordan was the third of three boys born to Anthony Davis and Chrysanthia Davis.
JoJo was a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsford Heights, Indiana. He attended Michigan City High School. JoJo enjoyed playing football and basketball. He was a very adroit chess player and enjoyed reading. JoJo journeyed well and provided a smile and a willingness to roll up his sleeves to give assistance and help to those in need.
He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Anthony Davis of Michigan City, Indiana; his mother, Chrysanthia Davis of Houston, Texas; son, Jordan C. Davis of Michigan City, Indiana; his very special companion, Wateeyah Muhammad of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandmothers, Mamie Jackson of Meridian, Mississippi and Lillie P. Davis of Michigan City, Indiana; brothers, Micah and Marcus Davis both of Michigan City, Indiana and Calvin Forch of Houston, Texas; aunts and uncles, Dorina Martin of St. Louis, Missouri, Alkeia Blackmon of Indianapolis, Indiana, Luria Clifton of Okolona, Mississippi, Ella Carter of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Laverne Dunlap, Herman Evans and Bill Davis all of Michigan City, Indiana, Sel Dunlap, Jr. of Lansing, Illinois, Chris Jimison of South Bend, Indiana, Frank (Sue) Evans of Kingsford Heights, Indiana, Calvin (Frances) Evans of Indianapolis, Indiana, Larry (Ruby) Evans of Michigan City, Indiana and a host of cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Willie Jimison; paternal grandfather, Willie Davis and paternal great-grandmother, Mattie Dunlap.
