Janette Yvonne Wallace, 75, departed this life on August 7, 2019.
Funeral services will be 11am, Saturday, August 17, 2019 at New Zion Temple Church 926 East Morris Street, Hammond, IN. Viewing will be 10am, Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the church until the time of the service.
Janette was born August 28, 1943 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Theodore and Donzella (Lobbins) Wallace.
She attended Florida Street School in Memphis Tennessee. She later moved to Chicago Illinois, where she attended and graduated from High Park High School in 1962.
Janette was a Women of Great Faith and that faith was demonstrated throughout her life.
She was a member at Redeeming Church of Christ, under the leadership of Rev. James Anderson and later under the leadership apostle Paul A. Southerland. She affectionately serviced on the Mother’s board where she loved talking about the word of God.
Janette loved fishing, traveling, cooking and dancing was just some of the things she enjoyed doing. Janette worked and retired from United States Postal Service, after servicing 37 years. Doing her retirement, she loved spending time with the Lord, family and children.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories, three daughters, Yvette Wallace, Sonja (Robert) Watters and Thiesha Tiggs; six grandchildren, Kenneth Wallace, Ernest Eskridge, Tyree Brown, DeJuanita Brown, Myckal Myers and Lincoln Watters; her special Granny’s babies Mufasa and Doc, Smokey, Dee Dee and a host of good friends and special cousins whom will missed her dearly.
