Janet F. Morris was born April 8, 1956 in Charleston, Missouri to the late Gene Phillips and Josephine (Murphy) Phillips. On June 29, 1974 in Michigan City, Indiana she married Dewayne Morris Sr.

Janet worked at Anco Federal-Mogul in Michigan City. She loved visiting her friends, playing domino’s, talking with her friends, dancing, cooking and listening to music.

Janet F. Morris departed this life on August 22, 2017 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Zela Mae Jackson; three sisters, Mary Phillips-Jackson, Erma Jean Kelly; Jodie Mae Grimes; three brothers, Samuel Phillips, Bobby Lee Haynes, James Lee Jackson; in-laws, Wayne “Pappy” Farmer, Sr., Raymond “Ray” Grimes and Arthur Simpson Jr.

Janet leaves to mourn her memories, her children, Rachel L. (Stanley Page) Phillips of Indianapolis, Indiana, Dewayne O. (Shilyn) Morris Jr of Mesquite, Texas, LaReasha S. Morris of Michigan City, Indiana and Quintez D. (Lindsay Harrington) Morris of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters, Dorothy Phillips, Bertha Phillips, Martha Jackson, Laura Farmer, Loretta Crawford all of Michigan City, Indiana, Ella (Pedie) Jackson, Lilly Bell Jackson, Ruby (Alvin) Scott, both of Charleston, Missouri and Leome Jackson of Paducah, Kentucky; brothers, Elma Jackson and Kenneth Jackson both of Charleston, Missouri; special friends, Tommy Corley, Ethel Redden and Gregory Butcher; fifteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
