George Eddie Mason, 74, Michigan City departed this life on October 3, 2017.

He was born July 14, 1943 in Tyronza, Arkansas to Eddie Mason and Georgia Lee Byrd.

George is survived by his daughter, Massa L. Johnson of Michigan City, Indiana; mother, Georgia Lee Byrd of Michigan City, Indiana; two grandchildren, Anthony (Linda) Thomas of LaPorte, Indiana and Angela Johnson of Indianapolis, Indiana; two great grandchildren, Deon Kendrick and Derek Thomas; sisters, Louise White of Georgia, Elder Cora Price of Georgia, Vanessa Murry, Mary Coleman and Mattie Murry all of Michigan City, Indiana, Sue Mason of Texas and Lynn Mason of Arkansas; brothers, Harold Bowers of Michigan City, Indiana, Jerry Bowers and Nelson both of Virginia,  Leroy Murry, Chester Murry and Ralph Murry all of Michigan City, Indiana, William Murry of Minnesota and Eddie Mason of Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his Mt. Zion Church family.

He was preceded in death by his father; long time companion, Army Lee Butler; son, Archie Thomas; son-in-law, Jacob Johnson Jr.; two sisters, Doris Jean Martin and Sandra Wren; aunt Pauline Kilgore.
