Robert E Kiner

April 10, 1937 ~ January 1, 2018 (age 80) 80 Years Old

On January 1, 2018 God called his precious angel home.  Robert Emitt Kiner Sr. was born on April 10, 1937 to his wonderful parents Ozzie Mae Kiner-Fleming and George Washington Fleming, both deceased.

Mr. Kiner leaves to cherish his love for his sisters, Charlene Patrick, Lettie Penn, Bobbie Gerron, all of Michigan City, and Christine Harvey of Canton, MS and one brother, Michael Fleming (Kay), Michigan City, IN.

On March 10, 1962, Mr. Kiner married the love of his life, Curtis Mae Kiner. During their life together, God blessed them with eight beautiful and loving children. Five sons: Webster Means of South Bend, IN; Dexter Means (Paulette) of Michigan City, IN; Richard Kiner of Niles, MI; Robert Kiner Jr. (Jennifer) of LaPorte, IN, and David Kiner of Rhode Island. Three daughters: Vernice Kiner of Waltham, MA; Sandra Kiner- Lewis (Brian) of Lake Station, IN, and Yulanda Kiner of Hanson, MA.

Mr. Robert E. Kiner worked at Bethlehem Steel for 29 years. He enjoyed working, fishing, watching westerns movies, and making others laugh. Mr. Kiner was warm hearted, loving, and an outstanding, humble person. Mr. Kiner loved to share his wisdom with others.

Mr. Robert E. Kiner had 20 grandchildren that he enjoyed and loved dearly. Sharee Means-Mawhinney, Fantasia Means, Whitney Means, Tiffany Kiner, Jerome Kiner, Ryan Kiner, Richard A. Kiner, Jordan Kiner, Robert Kiner III, Kobe Hicks, Darmaree` Kiner, David Kiner Jr., Emmerit Kiner, Bruce Hubbard Jr., Alisha Philips, Marcus Philips, Johnathan Philips(deceased)  Kassandra Philips, Simone Gregg, and Sydney Lunnin. twelve great grandchildren; one special nephew, Anthony Hubbard, a niece who he loved dearly, Grecian Fleming and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Kiner was preceded in death by three brothers, Gregory Fleming, Willie Fleming and George Fleming Jr., and one sister Dorothy Ann Fleming.

Funeral services will be 1pm, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Life Temple Church of God in Christ with Minister Dexter Means to officiate. Burial will take place 11:00am on Monday, January 8, 2018. Viewing will be 11am, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the church until the time of service.
