Mary was born May 17, 1936 to the late Evis Moore and Luvenia Moore. She was married to Willie James Flowers Sr., whom preceded her in death in 1976.

Mary attended Advancing Christ Kingdom Ministries. She loved to cook, cleaning the church, fishing and being with her friends.

Mary L. Flowers, 82, departed this life on June 11, 2017 at Golden Living Fountainview of LaPorte, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her son Willie James Flowers, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, children, Diane Flowers of St. Louis, Missouri, Alonzo (Datra) Flowers, Michigan City, Indiana, Michael (Stephanie) Flowers of LaPorte, Indiana, , Julia (Clayborn) Flowers-Williams and Johnny (Jacqueline) Flowers both of Michigan City, Indiana; three sisters, Lena Pearl (Carl) Hutchinson of Merrillville, Indiana, Dorothy Lean of St. Louis, Missouri and Ruby Taylor of Houston, Texas and one brother, Rufus (Eleanor) Moore Sr., of St. Louis, Missouri; two special friends, Orelia Hale of Michigan City, Indiana and Della Monroe of Arkansas; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
