Eric “Rico” Sutton, Jr., 36, Indianapolis formerly of Michigan City departed this life on May 17, 2017 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Funeral services will be 11am, Friday, May 26, 2017 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Getter officiating. Burial to follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be 10am Friday, May 26, 2017 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church until time of service.

Eric Sutton, Jr., affectionately known as “Rico” and “Sutt” was born July 11, 1980 to the late Eric Sutton, Sr., and Debra (Byrd) Sutton.

Eric attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church when he was younger. He graduated from Michigan City High School in 1999. He attended Vincennes College for two years. Eric was an avid baseball and basketball fan; his favorite team was the Chicago White Sox. He also enjoyed football.

He leaves to mourn his memories, two daughters, Makyia Sutton and Nyla Sutton both of Indianapolis, Indiana; special friend, Natasha Rogers of Indianapolis, Indiana; one brother, Gian “Mariano” Sutton of Michigan City, Indiana; one sister, Jeneva “Noonie” Sutton of Michigan City, Indiana; paternal grandmother, Roslyn Fisher of Michigan City, Indiana; aunt, Patrice Pettis of Michigan City, Indiana; two uncles, William Pettis and Lorenzo (Patsy) Sanchez both of Chicago, Illinois; ten special cousins, Brient Thomas of Michigan City, Indiana, Tania Sanchez of Champagne, Illinois,  Alexia “Mita” Pettis, Javier Sanchez, Adrienne Sanchez and Angelina Sanchez all of Chicago, Illinois, Gabrielle Marie Pettis, Anthony “Tony” Pettis and Lanise Pettis all of Michigan City, Indiana and Clara Tucker of Indianapolis, Indiana.

He is preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandfather, Claude Sutton; maternal grandparents, Charlie Byrd and Geneva Byrd.
