Elder Archie Ferrell, 82, Michigan City, departed this life on April 8, 2017 at Franciscan St. Anthony Memorial Health.

Elder Ferrell was born on August 13, 1934 in Charleston, Missouri to the late Paul Ferrell and Creasie Ingram-Ferrell. In 1979, Elder Ferrell married Mary Curtis.

Elder Ferrell accept Christ as his Savior over forty years ago. He was a Deacon at Hatchett Temple Church of God in Christ, he was elevated as an Elder at Life Temple Church of God in Christ, he also served was an Elder at Love Temple Church of God in Christ and he served as an Elder and Pastor at Zion Temple Church of God in Christ and he later became a member of Redeemed Fellowship Church where he served as an Elder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and singing.

Elder Ferrell leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Mother Mary Ferrell of Michigan City, Indiana; children, Marcella Austin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jonnie Welch, Michael Ferrell, Michelle Ferrell, Paul Ferrell and Mark Ferrell all of Michigan City, Indiana, Creasie (David) Lewis, Aurora, Illinois, Deborah Mormon, Chicago, Illinois, Ramona Devore, Jonesboro, Georgia; stepchildren, Carolyn (Jay) Howell, Michigan City, Indiana, Kathy Beaver, Hazelhurst, Mississippi, Christopher (Sandy) Curtis, Detroit, Michigan, Jeffery Curtis, Hazelhurst, Mississippi and Savannah Smith, Flint, Michigan; two sisters, Arizona Fleming and Alpha Mae Williams both of Michigan City, Indiana; one brother, Charles (Sherri) Moore, Michigan City, Indiana; in-laws, Essie McCarthy, Lavern Easterling, Dorothy (Lucas) Funchess and Robert (Sonya) Curtis all of Hazelhurst, MS, Edna (Herbert) McMillan, Jackson, MS, Barbara (Bobby) Green, Milton, FL and Helen Curtis, Downing, CA; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lula Kelly and one uncle, Andy Ferrell.
