Desiree Letece Simmons

Desiree Letece Simmons “Desi” was born in Chicago, IL on July 27, 1978 to the late Susan Simmons & Earl Walker. She was the youngest of three children.
She confessed her love for Christ at an early age joining Philadelphia Missionary Baptist church where she also sang in the choir, under the leadership of the late Rev Donnie Hardiman.
Desiree had a great sense of humor, always laughing & flashing that beautiful smile. She was a fun loving mother & grandmother who when called upon for anything especially intense life moments you knew she was coming. Desi lived her life to the fullest despite the many obstacles & life struggles she battled.
She had a passion for showing off her chef skills. If you knew Desiree you know she had a love for her short styled wigs and looking fly.
Desi was well known and loved by everyone. She had a heart of gold and she loved hard. You never had to question her loyalty or wonder how she felt. Desi was a rider for her family and always kept it real.
On March 10, 2018 Desiree departed this Earthly life to accept Gods invitation to take her heavenly seat. Her mother Susan Simmons, Step father Earl Glenn Brown and her grandparents awaited her arrival with open arms to welcome her home.
Desiree leaves to honor and cherish her memory seven children, Susan “SJ”, Kyla, Daryon, Earl, Deziray, Kamarion & Kaycee; Her Father Earl Walker; Two brothers Danny & Wallace “Aaron”; 5 grandchildren along with one on the way and a host of aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services are pending at Coleman & Hicks Funeral Home.
