Bobbie Jean (Kiner) Gerron

Bobbie Jean Kiner-Gerron, 76, departed this life on March 20, 2018, surrounded by her wonderful family.

Funeral services will be noon, Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Life Temple Church of God in Christ 3709 West U.S. 20 with Pastor Ronnie Gaston to officiate. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Viewing will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018, at Coleman & Hicks Chapel.

Bobbie Jean was born March 3, 1942, in Canton, Mississippi, to the late George W. Fleming Sr., and Ozzie (Fleming) Kiner. She relocated to Michigan City, Indiana, in 1959 where she attended Elston High School. In 1967, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married Charles Gerron.

She was employed with Michigan City Plastic and she retired after 33 years of service. Bobbie Jean enjoyed sewing, doing hair and gardening. She was a member of Temple Worship Center under the leadership of Pastor Ronnie Gaston.

Bobbie Jean leaves to cherish her memories, her three children, Alice Ruth Kiner of Michigan City, Charles Gerron Jr. of Kincheloe, Michigan and Ricky D. Gerron of Mishawka, Indiana; two godchildren, Keesha Allen and Rickey Bureau; three loving sisters, Christine Harvey of Canton, Mississippi, Lettie Penn and Charlene Patrick both of Michigan City, Indiana; one brother, Michael (Kay) Fleming of Michigan City, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Jean Fleming of Michigan City, Indiana and Alice Fleming of Jackson, Michigan; special friends, Bertha Peterson, Betty Blackmon and Sandy Bureau all of Michigan City, Indiana; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of special nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert Kiner, Elder Willie B. Fleming, Gregory Fleming George Fleming Jr. and Danny Fleming; two sisters, Dorothy Ann Braxton, Mae Willie Fleming-Logan; two sisters-in-law, Curtis Mae Kiner and Alice Faye Fleming; one great grandchild, Danila Marie Grant; special cousin, Marie Bureau
