Amira Aziz, also known as “Lucy Weathers”, 90 years young, of Michigan City, Indiana, departed this life on April 7, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.
A tribute of life will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Coleman & Hicks Funeral Home and Crematory at 1 p.m.
Amira Aziz “Lucy Weathers” was born in Chickamauga, Georgia, on Jan. 7, 1928, to the late William and Gertrude Foster. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Shahid Aziz “Alonzo Weathers”; sons, Willie Foster, Michael Weathers and Marcel Weathers; one sister, Edith Langston and three brothers, Roy Foster, Johnny Foster and Preston Foster.
Queen Amira spent her life devoting herself to her husband, children and family. She provided home cooked meals for a family of seven every day. Amira had a quiet kind hearted nature with a wrath of God, and gave discipline in the form of a quiet storm. She didn’t say much but, when she did, you would want to listen or laugh. Amira always made it clear how much she loved her family. Any difficulties we’d have in life she’d refer us to her favorite song “Zoom” by Lionel Richie.
She now watches over her loving family Wanda Thompson-Weathers; two sons, Jerome Weathers, and Accra Weathers "Ali Aziz" all of Michigan City, Indiana; one sister, Roberta Jaffer in Chickamauga, Georgia; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the Nation Of Islam.
